Vintage Asics pickups
Posted under: As a fan of the Asics brand history (see these, these, these & these) I was lucky enough to pickup 3 pairs as of late. Lets walk em through one by one.
Gel-Exult
The Gel-Exult is a model dating from 1990, the year this particular colorway was released I still have to find out. The exult is a typical runner with a great shape, midsole and rear end. I love the eyelet detail holding the lower part of the laces.
Gel-Lyte Ultra
This model was introduced in 1994, if this colorway is from the same year I dont know. What makes the ultra interesting is the element that curves from the outer part up and down to the inner part of the shoe. The model has some nice 3M detail ons the heal and toebox and has no tongue but a sockliner that fits snug around your ankles.
Gel-Court II
When it comes to vintage, runners are highly popular amongst collectors. Therefor this category is well documented. This is why I find the Gel-Court II the most interesting pair of the three, as its a model you don’t come across that often. My appreciation for indoor shoes probably comes from my younger years when I used to play tennis, and indoor during winter. The gel-court II is a typical indoor shoe, probably from around 1995. The model is blessed with a crazy toebox and lovely gumsole.

All three are super nice! I just picked up a vntg pair of Legacys myself DS!!! so happy
I guess I got lucky as of late, most of the time vtg pairs dont come in my size. And when they do they carry a heavy pricetag. Sounds like a decent pickup yourself, any chance you got a pic of em up somewhere?

yea I put some on CT and up on my blog mackdre.blogspot.com – I feel you on the size thing..I am usually 9.5- 10 and there is not that many options. I just grabbed a few pairs of etonic stable air as well which I need to grab more of for sure.
Aweseom pickups…the exult are especially interesting.
