The other night I wanted to see a movie with my girl and she came up with this movie called ‘Boy A’. The story is about a boy that was convicted for murder as a child, and enters society again as a an adult after paying his dues. A supervisor is helping him to start his new life, in a new town with a new name. After a good start things change when people find out about his past.

I must admit I’d never heard about the UK film which was first released in 2007. The filming, plot and acting make this best movie Ive seen in a while. Andrew Garfield does an amazing job giving shape to the main character for which he also received the 2008 Best Actor BAFTA TV Award.

A funny fact from a footwear enthusiast perspective is the opening scene of the movie. Jack just got out of prison and sits at the table with his supervisor Terry. Jack gets a gift which is a pair Nike Air Max 90 ‘Escapes’. When Jack opens the box Terry says “Look at what they called”, aiming at the Escape text on the shoes Tongue, “Kind of appropriate dont you think?”.
