Cracking Sauconies

Summer never landed in The Netherlands this year, just a couple of good days in spring. I decided to use that opportunity and break out some shoes that need this kind of weather. The choice for one of these sunny days was a pair of the Saucony Jazz 3000. A wonderful piece of Saucony history that is great on materials & colors despite the banana-ish shape. An interesting fact about this pair is the sizing tags on the inside; one label explains the correct size US11.5, the wrong one claims its a US9.

Taking the 3000′s for a walk turned out to be the first and last time on the streets with these, a risk I dont regret taking as nothing stays on ice around here. The consequences after the day was that the midsoles crumbled and cracked like the chips you enjoy while watching a good movie at night. The right pair took the heaviest beating; the midsoles cracked heavily and at the rear the sole started separating. The left shoe looks decent, put the picture already shows a long deep crack on the inner midsole. A damn shame as I would love to break these out again. So dear Saucony Originals, please do a retro of these so I can replace the soles and get jiggy with em again.
