Apps for sneakerheads: Moneybook
In the series ‘Apps for Sneakerheads’ Im giving an overview of handy, well thought out mobile applications that are useful for sneakerheads (and non-sneakerheads alike). The app that kicks off the list is ‘Moneybook’, an iPhone app that enables you to track your daily expenses without using an internet connection. Buying kicks is great, but a little expense management wont harm with that release date coming up.
Why use this app?
More and more banks are realizing that the web is moving towards mobile devices rapidly and create applications that give their users insight in their expanses on the go. Moneybook can do the same trick too if you keep tracking all expenses. So if your bank doesn’t have an app (yet), this might be a helpful tool. Also, Kb’s are costly abroad, so for those that prefer switching off all connections when crossing borders can take advantage of this application. Im probably not the only one that is uncomfortable with logging into my bankaccount on a shared computer in a hotel or iCafe. Besides the current state of your account there something Moneybook does offer something else, arguably even more interesting; insight in expenses.
What does it do?
Moneybook keeps track of your financial situation by adding all expenses and incomings. Everything can be added into categories which will build a nice overview on where you’re spending your money on. Sounds like a lot of work? Its not, reoccurring expenses and incomings like rent and salary can be added once and will be automatically updated on the date of choice. Also, the startscreen will directly show your daily balance based on all expenses. Make sure to keep that positive.
Why its great.
Its easy to add expenses and it will teach you a lot about your expense patterns. You can backup your data online (if you create an account) so when resetting or changing your iPhones you will still have access to your financial history. Its perfectly save as there are co connections to your bank account. You can also setup a password when opening the app to keep unwanted viewers away. If you think you can discipline yourself to keep adding all your expenses added, this app offers a great value in the long run.
If your iPhone runs iOS4 or later you can download the Moneybook app from the Appstore for $2.99
