Thank you Goods

As a sneaker enthusiast its always a shame to hear about a shop closing doors. It has happened in the past with multiple well known names and as I found out last night, it happened again. Independent footwear boutique Goods from Seattle closed its door for the last time today.

You might ask yourself, why would somebody on the other side of the world care so much about something like this. The reason is that although I never physically set foot in the store, Ive made many purchases. Besides footwear and clothing, Goods shipped many fitteds my way. As a true fitted head I can say I own a lot of hats and some highlights in the collection are definitely Goods pieces. The range that was put out in 2007/2008 has been amongst my favorite fitted releases to date and I’ve always hoped there was more of this planned. A shame this will not happen anymore. Besides this the customer service always was outstanding (I see you Paul). Most purchases were made by phone and there are a lot of shops with their doors still open today that can learn from the experience Goods offered.

Its sad its end here, although Ive heard that a new store Alive & Well is ran buy the same guys in Seattle now. Either way, a big thank you for the superb new era collabs and outstanding customer service, it didn’t go unnoticed. You will be missed. Salute

  • Sad sad news….always upsets me to here of companies closing their doors having been made redundant 10 times myself and experiencing my fathers business collapsing…..positive thoughts going out to those affected.

    • Hey Gonz, you’re comment is appreciated and I agree with you to the fullest. I recognize that times are harder for brick & mortar shops, which should mean that offering a great customer is essential. A shame to see a shop that offered just that is closing doors. I can point out some very well known names in this same business that offer nothing of that to their visitors/customers and are still open. It is what it is, but I couldn’t let this pass unnoticed.
